Of course, personal preference is what Vegas is all about (yeah, baby!), whether
for gambling or economics, making the Las Vegas Getaway May 2010 a highlight of
the social year for Drucker School Alumni Association.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

<p><font size="2"><span style="font-family: Arial; border: 1pt none windowtext; padding: 0in;">Popular
Professor Jay Prag opened the party on private bowling lanes of the posh Red
Rock Resort and Spa, with lanes lit by the soft blue glow of multimedia
screens. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

<p><font size="2"><span style="font-family: Arial; border: 1pt none windowtext; padding: 0in;">Haven’t
bowled in a decade or so? It’s changed a bit: catered, flowing wine, computer
screens, private lounges, music and video – at least at Red Rock. But it’s
still up to you to knock down the pins. Wine helped, but not necessarily with
rolling the ball accurately.<br style="">

<p><font size="2"><span style="font-family: Arial; border: 1pt none windowtext; padding: 0in;">But not
everyone can hurl a bowl with the force and precision needed to score strikes
and collect spares. For them, there is finance, and the Getaway offered
unquestionably the best economics and strategy presented in Vegas, perhaps
ever.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

<p><font size="2"><span style="font-family: Arial; border: 1pt none windowtext; padding: 0in;">Jay
led fascinating Sunday sessions on making smart investments in uncertain times,
a much needed refresher on the underappreciated common sense of risk
diversification and buying the market rather picking stocks. Jay built out his
presentation during the afternoon with a canny overview of the implications of
emerging financial legislation on investors. Jay closed the session Monday with
an intimate discussion of leadership and personal growth within organizations,
capturing the Drucker ethos that is at the heart of our school.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

<p><font size="2"><span style="font-family: Arial; border: 1pt none windowtext; padding: 0in;">Oh,
and yes, there was gambling. Jay offered an economist’s advice on experiencing
the casino: Set a limit on outflow, and just have fun. We certainly did the
latter.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

<p><font size="2"><span style="font-family: Arial; border: 1pt none windowtext; padding: 0in;">The
event, May 22-24 at the <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">North Las
